Matthew Davis | IT Manager
The Rockhampton Grammar School

Matthew Davis, IT Manager, The Rockhampton Grammar School

Matt Davis is the IT Manager at The Rockhampton Grammar School, where he works at the intersection of technology, risk, and day‑to‑day reality. He drives cybersecurity, infrastructure, and digital change across a P–12 environment, with a strong focus on systems that are sustainable, understandable, and actually used. Matt is closely involved in the school’s approach to AI, concentrating on practical use, clear guardrails, and building staff capability rather than chasing novelty. He’s particularly interested in reducing hidden technical debt, avoiding single‑point dependency, and designing technology that quietly improves how people work.

Day 2 @ 14:10

Beauty and the beast - Implementing AI strategies in K12 schools from 2 perspectives

In this session learn how two different K12 organisations have adopted very different strategies to safely and effectively implement AI across their communities. We will look at the three key pillars for successful K12 AI implementation and discuss how these two organisations pitched different, yet successful, strategies that have taken their schools forward. You will leave this session with a new found understanding of what the AI implementation continuum looks like and maybe even some ideas on where your school sits on it and strategies you can apply.
