Digital inclusion in action: Turning used laptops into student opportunity

Anton Rainer-Smith, Technology Partnerships Manager at The Smith Family, will explore how The Smith Family’s Digital Learning Essentials program is helping bridge the digital divide for students experiencing disadvantage across Australia.

The session will highlight how The Smith Family works with corporate, K–12 and tertiary sector partners to transform donated laptops into meaningful learning opportunities for Learning for Life students, while also supporting ESG, sustainability and circular economy outcomes through technology reuse. Anton will also share insights into the scale of digital exclusion in Australia, the communities and schools supported through the program, and how organisations and school can play a practical role in creating greater educational equity through device donations.
