From chaos to clarity: Using AI to make sense of challenging lessons

When a lesson doesn’t go to plan, teachers are often left wondering what went wrong and how to fix it. This session explores how AI can be used as a practical reflective tool to unpack those “pear-shaped” lessons in real time. By aligning reflections with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers, AI can help identify gaps in engagement, differentiation, and clarity, giving teachers a starting point for meaningful improvement. This isn’t about replacing professional judgement—it’s about supporting it, turning AI into a coaching partner that helps make sense of the moments when teaching feels most uncertain.

DataHQ: Turning Insight into Action

  • Attendees will understand that dashboards alone don’t improve outcomes; structured translation into teaching moves is what drives growth including a partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Learn how consolidating datasets into one platform enables clarity, consistency, and faster decision-making across staff.
  • Effective schools don’t track everything they focus on high-impact data points that directly inform teaching.
  • Discover how cross-KLA collaboration (PLCs) turns data into shared responsibility, ensuring consistent strategies.
  • Walk away with a model for embedding a continuous improvement cycle where data informs action, action is monitored, and impact is measured systematically and sustainably.
