Don Perna is an innovative leader in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education, currently serving as Head of ICT at St Gregory’s College Gregory Hills. With more than 40 years of experience in education, Don has built a strong reputation for leading the implementation of emerging technologies that enhance teaching, learning, student engagement, and academic achievement. In 2003, Don received the National Award for Quality Schooling in the area of School Leadership for his work in developing Beginning Teacher Mentor programs. In 2005, he was awarded the NSW Governor’s Award for Civics and Citizenship Education. His passion for integrating technology into education led to a three-year secondment with the Wollongong Catholic Education Office as Education Officer – Learning Technologies, supporting 29 primary and 11 secondary schools. Don is widely recognised for his expertise in Artificial Intelligence integration, digital transformation, and innovative pedagogical practices. He is a sought-after speaker known for delivering engaging, practical, and forward-thinking presentations that help educators understand how AI and emerging technologies can be used to improve learning outcomes and prepare students for an increasingly technology-driven world.
