Mr. Alvarez is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the aviation sector, with a strong focus on sustainability leadership. Currently, he plays a pivotal role in the decarbonization strategy of Azul Linhas Aéreas, the only airline in the world to have its Net Zero targets approved by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). His career includes direct involvement in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) initiatives, ranging from discussions with the Brazilian government to representing Azul in associations of feedstock producers such as soy, corn, and sugarcane. Additionally, he collaborates with companies assessing the establishment of SAF plants in Brazil, driving the transition toward more sustainable aviation.
