Derek Nseko is the Founder and Publisher of Airspace Africa a leading dedicated digital aviation publication. A recognized industry expert, he is a prominent voice in aviation, providing regular commentary for BBC, CNBC, CGTN, TRT and other global media outlets while contributing to major publications across the globe. A qualified Commercial Pilot, Derek is deeply committed to aviation education and awareness. Through his award-winning social enterprise, iFly Academy, he champions grassroots aviation engagement and STEM education, inspiring the next generation of industry leaders. iFly has been recognized globally, including as a case study for best practices in an ICAO publication on youth engagement. He is also the Founder and Executive Director of Flight to Zero, an initiative dedicated to accelerating the aviation industry’s transition to net-zero emissions. Beyond his entrepreneurial efforts, Derek serves as the Special Representative to Uganda and In-Country Director for the International Air Transport Cadets, further advancing opportunities for young aviation enthusiasts.
