With industry, teaching and research experience since 1988, Associate Professor Simon Pawson is an academic leader, strategist, motivator, hotelier and social justice advocate. Simon is an Associate Dean at Torrens University Australia, responsible for the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School. His areas of teaching and research include leadership, marketing, strategic management, social / environmental justice, sustainable tourism, community-based tourism, heritage protection, and destination management. Simon has been an active researcher and social justice advocate in Cambodia since 2002. Both his Masters and PhD thesis examined social and community development through tourism in Cambodia. He is also the Deputy Chair on the Board of The International Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education (THE-ICE).
