Paul is a Senior Educational Developer in the Learning and Teaching Futures team at CQUniversity (CQU). His work focuses on educator capability, assessment redesign, and the practical integration of Generative AI in education. During his 14 years at CQU, Paul has worked across teaching and educational development roles. He began as a Paramedic Science Academic, following a 30-year career as a Paramedic and contributed to the writing and development of a fledgling paramedic course before moving into a Senior Educational Developer role supporting staff across disciplines. Paul works with academic and vocational educators to interpret emerging technologies and apply them in practical, ethical, and discipline-relevant ways. He has led extensive professional development in Generative AI and is particularly interested in what helps staff move beyond initial awareness into confident, sustainable teaching practice. He is the founder and co-lead of CQU’s active Generative AI Community of Practice.
