Melvin Jeffrey Chan is Senior Vice President and Head of IoT & Big Data at Indosat Business, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH), where he leads the company's IoT, M2M, Big Data, API, and data analytics businesses. He is responsible for strategy, product development, innovation, business development, ecosystem partnerships, consulting, and the overall commercial performance of the business.

He has more than 24 years of experience across information and communications technology, including over two decades in telecommunications. His expertise spans IoT, 5G, artificial intelligence, big data, cloud, APIs, digital transformation, enterprise solutions, smart cities, Industry 4.0, and business strategy. Throughout his career, he has worked across Asia, North America, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East in regional and global leadership roles.

Prior to joining Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Melvin served as Vice President and Head of Enterprise Innovations, Business Development, Consulting & Presales at PLDT Enterprise, where he led innovation, IoT, 5G, cloud, AI, cybersecurity, and emerging technology initiatives across multiple industries. Before that, he spent more than 14 years with Ericsson, holding a series of international leadership roles in Sweden, Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the United States, South Africa, and Kenya. His responsibilities included global sales strategy, IoT business development, managed services, enterprise transformation, customer engagement, and large-scale network programmes.

Earlier in his career, Melvin worked as a software engineer at Canon Information & Imaging Solutions and as a technical support engineer at Sykes Philippines, building a strong foundation in engineering and technology before progressing into global commercial and executive leadership.

Melvin holds a Master's degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Tokyo, where he studied on a full scholarship from Panasonic, and a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering and Management from De La Salle University. He has also completed executive education programmes at INSEAD, IMD Business School, Harvard Business School Online, and Boston University's Questrom School of Business. Fluent in multiple Asian languages, he brings extensive international experience in helping enterprises leverage emerging technologies to accelerate digital transformation and business growth.
