Joanna Thorpe – Head of People and Talent, Sonnedix
Joanna Thorpe is the Head of People and Talent at Sonnedix, a global renewable energy service provider. As a member of the senior management team, she leads the company’s strategy across employer branding, people partnering, talent attraction, acquisition and development, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI). She is passionate about building a diverse and inclusive culture where all employees can thrive and contribute to Sonnedix’s mission of accelerating the energy transition. Joanna joined Sonnedix in 2018, bringing with her over a decade of experience in marketing and communications within the sustainability sector. She has worked with a variety of organisations, including a built environment sustainability consultancy, an anaerobic digestion start-up, and the UK’s National Energy Foundation. Earlier in her career, Joanna held senior roles at the international leadership development organisation Common Purpose and the British Council, where she was posted to Malaysia. She also held business development roles in the mobile telecommunications sector and began her career at the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Joanna holds a BSc in Psychology and Sociology, an MA in Marketing, and an MSc in Occupational Psychology. She is a qualified executive coach and a certified Lean Yellow Belt.
