Martina Recabarren, Student Year 9, Student

2026 Apple WWDC Winner • Young Creator • Inspiring Girls in Tech Martina Recabarren is a Year 9 student and one of Australia’s rising young technologists. She began coding only a year ago with the support of her teacher, Paul Dionysious, and quickly found a love for creating apps that help people. Her 2026 Apple WWDC Swift Student Challenge project was designed to support primary school children with "big emotions" through simple check‑ins and calming tools. Martina first shared her work at an Apple event in Sydney at age 13 and has since been part of award-winning teams in coding and STEM competitions. She is now helping design a low‑cost robotic arm powered by Apple Watch technology, proving that creative code can solve real-world problems. Recently featured in Education Review, Martina is passionate about encouraging more girls to try coding and see themselves as creators. At EduTECH 2026, she joins her award-winning teacher, Paul Dionysious, to share her journey and how students can discover their passion through technology.
