Emma Wilson | Director of Middle School
Living School

Emma Wilson, Director of Middle School, Living School

Emma Wilson is an educator dedicated to redefining the middle years through transdisciplinary, project-based learning. With 12 years of experience, Emma currently serves as the Director of Middle School at Living School, where she has established a model that places student engagement and agency at its core. Emma’s work is built on the conviction that students are not merely passive recipients of information, but vital knowledge holders. By championing student voice, she prepares learners to navigate an ever-changing world with a sense of ownership over their intellectual journey. At EDUtech 2026, Emma will present a co-designed curriculum model that invites students into the heart of project development. Rather than being subjects of a syllabus, students are active partners in project design, ensuring rigorous academic standards are met through the lens of their own inquiries. This journey of autonomy and discovery is captured in the student-produced documentary, 'The School The Kids Built', which Emma will highlight as a testament to what happens when students are empowered to be active participants in their own education.
