Sara Brambilla is the Global Programme Manager at Rare Diseases International (RDI), where she leads the development of the Global Network for Rare Diseases—an initiative aimed at strengthening international collaboration, connecting specialized expertise, and fostering structured partnerships between rare disease centers across countries to improve diagnosis, care, and quality of life for people living with rare diseases. A former intensive care nurse, her profile combines six years of hands-on clinical experience in intensive care and surgical/transplant units with expertise in programme management, stakeholder engagement, and health systems analysis. Sara holds a Master of Science in Nursing and a Master in International Healthcare Management, Economics and Policy (MIHMEP) from SDA Bocconi. She brings a multidisciplinary perspective that bridges clinical practice with global health strategy, and care coordination frameworks.
