Diana Kwast-Hoekstra, Patient representative/PhD candidate/Chair, Foundation (Un)limited Forward/UMCG

Diana Kwast-Hoekstra, MScN RN, is Founder and President of Stichting (On)beperkt Vooruit! / (Un)limited Forward! Foundation and a PhD Candidate at the University Medical Center Groningen in the Netherlands. She is a patient expert with lived experience, nurse scientist and international patient representative. Her work focuses on patient representation in healthcare, research and policy, with a particular focus on rare diseases and people living with multiple long-term conditions. Diana is Vice Chair of the IRDiRC Therapies Scientific Committee and Co-Chair of the Research and Innovation Committee of the Global Nursing Network for Rare Diseases. She is also a EUPATI/EUCAPA Fellow and HTA Ambassador. Her PhD research focuses on self-management and care coordination for people living with multiple long-term and rare conditions.
