Danielle Dong, Global Medical Scientific Advocacy Lead, Rare Disease, Sanofi

Danielle is the Global Medical Scientific Advocacy Lead, Rare Disease at Sanofi. She advocates for the understanding and use of rare disease evidence with a range of health care decision makers. She works with multistakeholder consortium across the rare disease ecosystem and leads several patient initiatives advocating for and with the rare community. She has extensive experience with the Sanofi Lysosomal Storage Disease Registries in both global and US operations and advocacy roles. She served as a member and co-chair of the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Rare Disease Advisory Panel from 2023-2025. Danielle is a certified genetic counselor who worked at the University of Virginia in the Department of Pediatrics, Medical Genetics Division providing genetic counseling to patients and families and co-coordinated the Lysosomal Storage Disease (LSD) Program. Danielle received her Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from Johns Hopkins University/National Institutes of Health Genetic Counseling Training Program and graduated with a BS in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
