Bart van de Warrenburg, Professor of Neurology, Radboudumc

Prof. Bart van de Warrenburg is a neurologist, focusing on rare movement disorders, which are often genetic. He is founder and lead of the Radboudumc expert center for rare and genetic movement disorders, which is also part of the European Reference Network for Rare Neurological Disorders. (ERN-RND). His research groups does translational research, ranging from identifying new causes and mechanisms, to clinical trial readiness, and the development and clinical evaluation of symptomatic and disease-modifying interventions. Van de Warrenburg is part of many national and international research consortia and network. He chairs the Ataxia Study Group of the International Parkinson & Movement disorder society, and also the Advisory Committee Therapeutics (Ataxia-ACT) of the Ataxia Global Initiative.
