Richard Lockwood joined the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UKBIC) as Business Development Manager in April 2025.
A graduate of the University of Bradford with a BEng in Chemical Engineering, Richard is part of the UKBIC team supporting customers in the development, optimisation, and scale-up of battery electrodes, cells, modules, and packs.
Bringing over 25 years of international experience across the Food, Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, and Lithium-ion Battery Materials sectors, for the 14 years prior to joining UKBIC, Richard held several senior positions at Matcon Ltd, including Business Development and Key Account Director, Regional Director – Asia Pacific, and Pharmaceutical Business Line Director.
During his career at Matcon, Richard specialised in powder processing applications, aiding clients in boosting their production capacity and operational flexibility.
