Dr. Ananth Chikkatur is the CEO and Co-Founder of XanhTerra, a technology-driven advisory firm integrating deep energy sector expertise with agentic AI-powered analytics to guide public and private clients on energy transition investments. At XanhTerra, he leads the development of proprietary AI workflows and data systems that support predictive modeling for energy markets and investment planning.
With over 20 years of international experience across Southeast Asia, South Asia, Africa, and North America, Dr. Chikkatur is a recognized expert in energy transition, corporate decarbonization, and sustainable infrastructure planning. He has advised governments, utilities, investors, and development partners on power and gas market reforms, renewable procurement, climate resilience, and carbon management.
Prior to founding XanhTerra, Dr. Chikkatur was a Specialist Leader at Deloitte Consulting US and served as Chief of Party/Executive Director for USAID’s flagship energy programs in Vietnam (V-LEEP & V-LEEP II). Earlier, at ICF International, he directed major energy planning initiatives in Ghana and India, including the development of the Ghana's first Integrated Power Sector Master Plan.
Dr. Chikkatur holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and conducted postdoctoral research in Energy Innovation at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs. His academic background also includes research appointments at University of California Berkeley and a B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Rochester.
