Carmelle Cadet, CEO, EMTECH

Carmelle is a passionate advocate of digital currency-based platforms, blockchain and capacity building for modernization, financial inclusion and economic development efforts.  She is the Founder and CEO of EMTECH, a fintech helping central banks in emerging markets modernize their financial market infrastructure.  
In her 10-year career at IBM, Carmelle led the global business development efforts of digital currency segment in IBM Blockchain. She holds a BS in Finance, and an MBA, and spent the formative years of her career in corporate finance at IBM, and held other roles in Global Treasury Risk Management and Global Capital Structure Management, before becoming the Business Development Executive for IBM Blockchain World Wire.  
Through EMTECH, Carmelle is on a mission to become the most reputable and trusted fintech partner to central banks in small, developing and emerging economies. The firm partners with central banks, local partners and various tech providers to design, build and deploy modern payment systems that are inclusive and interoperable by design, may it be for domestic, regional and international payments.  Morever, Central Bank governance, compliance, risk management and capacity building are other key pillars the firm focuses on.
As a native of Haiti who migrated to the US in her teens, she has come to appreciate how impactful and essential access to affordable and efficient financial services is to economic development. The goal is to make that a reality for small, developing and emerging economies around the world.
