Dr Nina James, General Manager - Professional and Continuing Education (PACE), The University of Adelaide

Dr Nina James is a strategic leader in lifelong learning with extensive experience across organisational development, vocational education, pre-tertiary education and higher education sectors. Her unique set of skills and experience across policy, pedagogy, stakeholder engagement and product development position her as a solutions-focussed thought leader in the nexus between education and workforce development.  At the University of Adelaide, Nina has played a critical role in the establishment, testing, socialisation and optimisation of microcredential frameworks and products, working with Industry to address skills gaps through flexible and accessible education, and with Faculty to create taster products and entry points for award programs. Nina creates space for the conceptualisation of new ideas and creative solutions to address complex problems, mobilising the expertise and experience of academics, professional staff and Industry to create clever products and packages of learning with a clear purpose.  Nina leads the Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) team at the University of Adelaide, driving business results through value-added workforce development projects and partnerships, as well as enabling social impact and inclusive education through engagement projects that deliver quality learning to new student cohorts in the community, regional areas and international delegations. Nina’s team took PACE to the world stage through global online learning platforms that showcase the University of Adelaide’s brand and expertise in short courses and microcredentials.
