Jacky Hateley is an Education Officer in the Student Wellbeing team at Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS). Jacky’s areas of responsibility have included leading the Respectful Relationships initiative at MACS, Out of Home Care (OoHC), Mental Health in Primary Schools Program (MHiPS), facilitating professional learning and supporting primary and secondary Student Wellbeing leaders across the Western Region. Jacky has completed postgraduate studies in Student Wellbeing and Positive Psychology and is currently completing a Masters of Applied Positive Psychology – Wellbeing Science (MAPP) at the University of Melbourne. Jacky has over 20 years’ experience working with young people in Catholic Education and is passionate about the mental health and wellbeing of young people. She has worked as a Student Wellbeing Coordinator, Health & Physical Education Coordinator, in School leadership, and as a classroom teacher. Jacky has significant experience in curriculum development and implementation.
Join us as we explore learnings and actions from the MACS Student Engagement Unit to support a whole of school approach to embedding wellbeing, enabling students to flourish and enrich the world. Wellbeing needs across schools are increasingly complex, with schools supporting and responding to these needs in a variety of ways. A systems approach to wellbeing is called for which recognises the unique environment of schools, highlighting the importance of partnerships with the school community, Parish, parents, staff, children, and young people.
