Faraz Khan, Teacher (Cybersecurity), Victoria University

Faraz Khan is a cybersecurity teacher at Victoria University and a 2025 International VET Practitioner Fellow with the International Specialised Skills Institute, supported by the Victorian Skills Authority. His fellowship project, Teaching the Future: Integrating Cybersecurity into Education, explores international best practice in training educators to embed cybersecurity across curricula. With experience spanning higher education, Defence training, and enterprise ICT environments, Faraz has led curriculum design and delivered hands-on cyber training. He previously served as Lead Technical Trainer supporting Australian Defence Cyber-worthy Fleet Information Environment project. Faraz combines deep technical expertise with a passion for educator capability-building, focusing on practical, workforce-aligned cybersecurity education that strengthens Australia’s future-ready skills system.

Cybersecurity in action: Engaging K–12 tools that bring digital safety to life

This interactive show-and-tell session highlights engaging K–12 cybersecurity resources that make digital safety and cyber skills accessible and age-appropriate. Participants will explore practical tools, games, and hands-on activities that bring cybersecurity concepts to life in the classroom. I will also share key learnings from the 2025 NICE K–12 Cybersecurity Education Conference (USA) and how these insights can be applied in Australian schools.
