Brielle Hughes, Cabrogal Dharug Woman and Teacher, Wingaru Education

Brielle is a proud Cabrogal Dharug woman with a Master of Secondary Education and extensive experience in SSP Education, including teaching in custodial settings with Youth Justice NSW. There, she witnessed firsthand the profound impact that a strong, inclusive classroom culture can have on First Nations students’ learning outcomes.

Guided by her passion for Aboriginal education, Brielle is dedicated to helping Aboriginal students thrive through cultural engagement and Aboriginal ways of learning. She also works to foster a supportive environment for both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal learners. 

In 2024, Brielle joined Wingaru Education, continuing her commitment to sharing culture, guiding educators in embedding Aboriginal perspectives, and nurturing future generations through inclusive and culturally responsive teaching practices.
