Dr. Rolando Pajon is a Cuban-born scientist and biophamaceutical executive. Dr. Rolando started as a scientist in vaccine research but soon moved into development, clinical evaluation and licensing of vaccines and immunotherapies. He has led diverse teams, some as big as 80 members, across different countries (Cuba, Canada, USA, Spain and 10 Latin American Countries), time zones and organizations. In the vaccines space Dr. Rolando’s career has gone full circle. Most recently Dr. Rolando was one of the core team members that developed one of the major mRNA vaccines against COVID and then went on to make its arrival to Latin America a reality. This year Dr. Rolando turned his attention to TB vaccine development, and as the Chief Medical and Scientific Officer at Biofabri, he leads the development of MTBVAC a promising vaccine candidate in late phase clinical evaluation in adults, adolescents, and neonates.
