Richard White is a Professor in Infectious Disease Epidemiology in the TB Modelling Group, TB Centre and Vaccine Centre at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He was awarded a PhD in infectious disease modelling in 2006, led the establishment of the LSHTM’s Centre for the Mathematical Modelling of Infectious Diseases in 2007, and was awarded a Methodology Research Fellowship from the UK MRC in 2009. He is Director of the international TB Modelling and Analysis Consortium, and co-leads the LSHTM TB Modelling Group. Prof White’s research focus is the mathematical and statistical modelling of the transmission and control of infectious diseases, particularly TB and HIV. He has co-authored over 200 peer-reviewed scientific publications and an infectious disease modelling book. He leads vaccine modelling on the potential global and country health and economic impact of new TB vaccines, is co-chair of the Collaboration for TB Vaccine Discovery Epi, Modeling and Trial Designs RC, and a member of the WHO TB-TAG.
