African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET)

Ndadilnasiya Endie Waziri is an Immunization and Primary Health Care Advisor at the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET), with over 18 years of experience in public health and more than 15 years working across immunization, disease surveillance, outbreak preparedness and response, field epidemiology, and health systems strengthening in Africa. She has held senior technical and leadership roles supporting national and regional public health programmes, with extensive experience in strengthening routine immunization systems, reaching zero-dose and underserved populations, introducing and scaling digital health solutions, and translating surveillance data into timely public health action. Her work has also contributed to major outbreak preparedness and response efforts, including polio, Ebola and COVID-19. At AFENET, Ndadilnasiya provides strategic and technical leadership for immunization and primary health care programmes and supports the development of innovative, evidence-informed approaches to strengthen vaccine delivery and resilient health systems across African countries. She has a particular interest in implementation science, digital health, vaccine equity, strategic partnerships, and strengthening the interface between disease surveillance and immunization. At the World Vaccine Congress Europe 2026, she will contribute to discussions on translating surveillance signals into vaccination action and strengthening biological threat preparedness through integrated surveillance and immunization systems, drawing on practical lessons and implementation experience from Africa. She is also an experienced field epidemiology trainer and mentor and is committed to strengthening the next generation of public health professionals and advancing African leadership in global immunization and health security.
