Nat graduated from Glasgow Vet School in 1992, and pursued advanced clinical training in USA, becoming board certified in Small Animal Internal Medicine in 1997. He completed an immunology PhD at Bristol University, investigation mucosal peptide therapy for autoimmunity. For the last 20 years he has worked at Davies Veterinary Specialists - one of the UKs largest referral practices treating exclusively dogs and cats referred by other vets. His interest in autoimmunity led him into vaccinology, especially understanding adverse reactions to vaccines, and how this is one of the drivers of vaccine hesitancy amongst pet owners. He provides continuing education for vets on all aspects of small animal immunology and for the last 5 years has enjoyed serving on the World Small Animal Veterinary Association Vaccination Committee, providing educational resources enabling the most rational and effective use of vaccines in dogs and cats in different parts of the world. This involves fact finding trips, most recenly a 3 year project in subsaharan Africa.
