Marie Bonhomme, Ph.D., currently serves as Director of Labs at PPD, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, where she provides strategic and operational oversight for the Vaccines Sciences Department within the Clinical Research Group. Dr. Bonhomme is known for her expertise in the field of Immunology and Infectious Diseases, particularly in the development of vaccine assays for immunogenicity testing in highly regulated environments. Dr. Bonhomme's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Immunology and Host-Pathogen Interactions, an M.S. in Cell Biology and Immunology, and a B.S. in Cell Biology, all from the Université de la Méditerranée, Aix-Marseille II in Marseille, France. Throughout her career, Dr. Bonhomme has held various research and leadership roles, including positions at the University of California Irvine and Virginia Commonwealth University prior joining PPD in 2014. Her research has focused on host-pathogen interactions, neuro-inflammation and the modulation of innate immune responses, with extensive bench expertise in cell culture, flow cytometry, gene expression studies, and immunoassays. Her leadership extends to managing laboratory operations and contributing to the scientific strategy and implementation of pharmaceutical-sponsored research protocols related to vaccine research.
