Dr Sumira Riaz (DPsych), Chartered Health Psychologist and Patient Engagement Consultant, Unboxed Psychology

Dr Sumira Riaz is a Registered Health Psychologist, Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Founder of Unboxed Psychology, a behaviour change, patient engagement consultancy. Sumira has 18 years of experience working within the NHS, charity section and healthcare agencies specialising in the Patient Engagement, most recently as the Centre of Excellence Lead within the patient engagement division. She is the co-chair of the PM Society patient engagement interest group and the education and training lead for the Division of Health Psychology. Sumira worked in the NHS for 5 years specifically focusing chronic pain at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, previously at Milton Keynes University Hospital. Here she works with patients diagnosed with pain and other mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety. As the founder of Unboxed Psychology, her mission is to transform patient engagement in healthcare through evidence-based psychological strategies.
