Jay began his hospitality career in cookery before completing an Advanced Diploma in Hotel Management. He joined TFE Hotels in 2008 as a Receptionist at Adina Apartment Hotel Melbourne and later progressed to Hotel Manager at Adina Apartment Hotel Wollongong. Seeking a sea change, Jay relocated to Sydney to lead Adina Apartment Hotel Bondi Beach, where he was recognised with two major accolades: Hotel Manager of the Year and Leader in Team Development. From 2016 to 2018, Jay headed the Learning & Organisational Development team at TFE Hotels HQ, where he launched the GENIE online learning platform and led the rollout of the TFE Hotels ACADEME program. In 2018, Jay moved to the nation’s capital as General Manager of the heritage-listed Hotel Kurrajong Canberra. Under his leadership, the property received numerous awards, including a national win for Wedding Venue – 4 to 5 Star Hotel at the 2021 Australian Wedding Awards. Jay later returned to Sydney to oversee the flagship A by Adina Sydney and its celebrated bar, Dean & Nancy on 22, which earned titles such as Hotel Bar of the Year at both the 2023 HM Awards and the 2024 Australian Bartender Awards. Most recently, Jay has returned to Canberra to take on his current role as Area General Manager ACT, overseeing six TFE Hotels properties across the region, representing A by Adina, Vibe Hotels, Hotel Kurrajong, and Adina Serviced Apartments. As an ACADEME Mentor and Facilitator, Jay is passionate about sharing his 17+ years of hospitality experience and creating meaningful career opportunities across TFE Hotels.
