James Goodwin, Chief Executive, Accommodation Australia

James Goodwin was appointed Chief Executive of Accommodation Australia (AA) in September 2024. AA is the national body representing the interests of hotels, motels and accommodation providers. There are more than 1,000 member properties who collectively have more than 120,000 accommodation rooms and 117,000 employees. Prior to his role with the AA, Mr Goodwin was the CEO of the Australian Airports Association (AAA) for more than four years and was CEO of the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) from 2015 to 2020. He has held a number of senior and high-profile corporate affairs roles across a range of sectors.  In addition, James is an experienced company director and serves on a number of ACT and national boards. James grew up in Southern New South Wales and was previously a reporter and newsreader in Sydney and Canberra – including periods in the Federal Parliamentary Press Gallery.  He studied journalism, law and politics in Canberra.
