Nick Titcombe, Document Specialist, CBSA

Nick Titcombe has spent the last 20 years working for the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and part of the National Document Centre (NDC) since 2010. He is a Document Specialist with considerable experience in travel, identity and civil document analysis, training delivery and Canadian border operations and policies. Nick is a recognized subject matter expert regarding the production of secure documents and current document fraud trends. He has participated the redesign process for several Canadian travel documents. As the lead CBSA trainer for document examination, he has worked to develop and refine document examination courses and regularly delivers training sessions to front line officers and international partner agencies. His primary duties include: the examination of travel and identity documents to determine authenticity and reveal alterations, training new document analysts and assisting partner agencies develop secure documents. He has been called to testify as an expert witness on numerous occasions and regularly delivers presentations about document fraud in both domestic and international settings. Prior to his current position with the NDC, Nick served as a Border Services Officer at the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel and spent many years working in the commercial print industry as an offset press operator.
