With over two decades of experience in the event and information security industries, Russell Phillips is a leader in event credentialing and access control. At SXSW Russell coordinates all aspects of event access control technology and leads the Information Security team. He has been instrumental to the operational success of one of the largest cultural events in the world.
Russell architects and oversees real-time access control and credentialing systems that integrate directly into business and safety needs. Directly overseeing the full process from physical credential production, software development, to event operations and resource dispatch his experience has led to widescale success in anti-counterfeiting, crowd management, and data analytics. With his focus on building proactive sociotechnical systems to succeed in complex live events, Russell has a unique perspective on the role of credentialing and identity in operational and business success.
