Garrison W. Ure started his IRS career as a Revenue Agent in IRS’ Large Business and International division in Independence, Ohio where he took positions of increasing responsibility ultimately serving as an Acting International Team Manager.  He then transferred to Criminal Investigation as a Special Agent in Ohio, a Computer Investigative Specialist, and then to a Sr. Analyst / Program Manager in Woodbridge, VA serving as CI’s first Crypto Seizure Team Lead where he oversaw a cross functional team of eleven people spanning Asset Forfeiture, Digital Forensics and Cyber HQ.  Currently, he leads IRS-CI’s first drone program and serves as the technical advisor to CI’s first Advanced Collaboration and Data Center, and leads Cyber HQ’s Technical Training Unit.  He is an accomplished educator with 14 years of collegiate teaching experience in Taxation, Accounting, CPA Exam prep courses, Cybersecurity, and Digital Forensics.  As an active member of the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS) he serves as an Assistant Regional Manager responsible for Peer Review Activities in Canada, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York, on the development team for Advanced Windows Forensics, and has taught several classes in Mac Forensics.  Garrison holds a Master of Cybersecurity and Information Assurance, a Master of Taxation, and a B.S. in Accountancy, and maintains credentials including CPA, CFE, CISSP, CEH, CFCE, and CFME, supported by extensive CompTIA and forensic certifications. A frequent presenter and published author in digital evidence and Mac forensics, he is known for translating complex technical and tax topics into clear, practical guidance, mentoring both students and professionals across accounting, cybersecurity, and federal law enforcement communities.  When not at work he loves reading, hiking, and his family.
