Alex Gilbey is the Academic Director of the Technology and Design Division at NextEd Group, where he leads academic strategy and innovation across a diverse portfolio of creative and technology-focused programs. With nearly two decades of experience in education and instructional design, Alex has held pivotal roles in program development, design and delivery across a variety of educational institutions incorporating Higher, Vocational and Primary School Education.  Alex's career is marked by a commitment to bridging the gap between education levels. His work has focussed on designing educational programs that synthesise skills and knowledge outcomes across multiple levels of education, ensuring that learners acquire the capabilities necessary for success in a dynamic labour market. Alex supports the strategic alignment of the VET and higher education sectors, facilitating smoother student pathways and promoting equity of access to high-quality tertiary education.  An advocate for leveraging technology to enhance learning experiences, Alex has led initiatives in virtual learning environments, particularly within creative disciplines such as animation, film, and game design. His leadership during the transition to online education has been pivotal in maintaining student engagement and delivering quality outcomes.
