Ridi Ferdiana, Director, Universitas Gadjah Mada

With over 17 years of experience in the IT industry, Ridi is a cloud engineer, a professor of software engineering, and currently serves as Director of Information Technology (2022-2027), where he leads strategic initiatives in digital transformation, cloud adoption, and IT governance. Ridi is also an instructor for Azure (MCT) and AWS (AAI / AWS Educator), working with leading multinational companies that require advanced cloud solutions and services. He holds a PhD in Software Engineering from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), where he teaches and conducts research on agile project management, software estimation, global software development, requirements engineering, and software modelling. As a Microsoft MVP since 2007, Ridi has been actively involved in the Microsoft Innovation Center program, leading and supporting projects that foster innovation and strengthen the local software economy in Indonesia. Over the years, he has earned multiple certifications from Microsoft, AWS, Scrum, and Techsmith, and published more than 100 papers in the field of information engineering. His work bridges academia, industry, and policy, with a strong focus on building fair, transparent, and scalable digital ecosystems. Ridi is deeply passionate about sharing knowledge with the developer and academic communities, empowering them to design and deploy secure, reliable, and future-ready cloud applications. At EDUtech Asia 2025, Ridi will share his vision for the future of education through intellogent university concept and explore how institutions can leverage technology, collaboration, and creativity to drive positive change. His innovative ideas and practical strategies aim to inspire attendees to transform their educational practices and create lasting impact for students and communities alike.
