Dr Muhammad Raees Shaik Saffarudin is a lecturer in the Business Diploma & Financial Programmes Department and an Educational Development & Innovation Associate at Sunway College Johor Bahru. He holds a PhD in Development Economics (Universiti Sains Malaysia) and teaches Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, and International Business across degree and diploma cohorts. His research examines ageing, savings behaviour, and income inequality with a policy focus. Working with colleagues, he embeds AI as a purposeful part of assessment and curriculum, co-developing the Modular AI for Constructivist (MAI-C) learning approach and the AI-Driven Deep (AIDD) learning framework. He also develops interactive learning experiences with AI-embedded components to reinforce understanding, and is shifting assignment design toward process-rich, exploratory work with iterative checkpoints rather than a sole emphasis on final outputs, to prepare AI-ready graduates and support staff in building AI-ready assessments.
