Michael Galligan | Education Program Manager

Michael Galligan is the regional Education Program Manager for Cognita Asia, where he works to build capacity in schools through systems approaches to AI literacy and policy application, data protection and cybersecurity, and leadership in digital learning. He works with 11 schools in Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam and India, combining his extensive 25+ years of experience in international education in a variety of program-building roles. Mike is particularly passionate about personalized learning and the potential AI-assisted tools offer in this area. His recent accomplishments include leading several accreditation and authorization processes (CIS, IBDP, WASC and EARCOS), spearheading the development and implementation of a proprietary school data dashboard, as well as a regionwide digital resource catalogue. Mike earned his Doctor of Education degree from The University of Hong Kong and he is the author of, The Big Ride: The Story of the Largest Cross Country Bike Ride in American History. He is an accomplished ultra-distance trail runner, with multiple successes over a 45-year competition career.
