Dr. Laarni Evelyn A. Santiago has devoted an impressive 26 years of her professional life to the University of Makati (UMak), demonstrating unwavering commitment to both the institution and the development of its academic community. Her journey began with a strong foundation in chemistry, having earned her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila. Driven by her passion for education, she continued her academic pursuit at UMak, earning a Master’s degree in Innovative Science Education in 2015, followed by a Doctorate in the same field in 2023. These academic achievements reflect her dedication to advancing her knowledge and expertise in the realm of science education. In addition to her academic accomplishments, Dr. Santiago’s career is also marked by over a decade of experience in customer service roles with prestigious companies. She worked with HSBC Data Processing Philippines (HDPP) and Thomson Reuters Finance Division, companies that were later managed by Refinitiv and subsequently acquired by the London Stock Exchange. This experience provided her with a solid understanding of corporate environments and customer relations, skills that complement her leadership in the academic sector. Dr. Santiago's specialization in science education has made a profound impact at UMak, where she has contributed significantly to the academic growth of students, particularly in the sciences.
