Jamie Toner brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in harnessing educational technologies and digital innovation to achieve educational excellence and administrative effectiveness. His extensive background spans higher education and school settings (PK - G12), encompassing both administrative and teaching roles. Jamie has excelled in establishing, managing, and leading digital, information, and technology services, as well as facilitating the development of information and digital literacy skills. As of Summer 2024, he takes up the position of Director of Technology and Innovation at the esteemed Singapore American School. Prior to joining Singapore American School, Jamie was Founding Director of Digital Learning and Information Services at Harrow International School Shenzhen (AISL Group) where he led on numerous cross-organisational information services, digital transformation, and innovation projects. In addition to this, he has held various educational positions across the UK, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East within and around the areas of digital and information services. In 2023, Jamie was recognised by the UK’s Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP), being nominated and named in their ‘CILIP 125 List’, celebrating 125 of the next generation of professionals who are leading across the sector, driving positive change, making a difference and having an impact. As an active researcher and member of multiple research groups, Jamie is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK and has written for publication and presented at national and international conferences. He is also currently pursuing a PhD exploring knowledge sharing in international schools.
