Chuu Yi is the Deputy Principal (Academic) of Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP), she drives key strategies for the Polytechnic in the areas of Teaching & Learning, academic excellence and governance. She leads the implementation of strategic initiatives like the Engaging and Effective Teaching & Learning Framework and the Professional Competency Model. She co-chairs the Joint Polytechnic Committee to Enhance Teaching & Learning. Her other past roles in NYP include being the Director of the Centre for Industry & Lifelong Learning and the Director of the School of Business Management. She started her career with NYP in the School of IT and had worked closely with industry leaders to bring industry best practices and technology into NYP's pedagogy and curriculum. Her other experiences include project development and management for the Ministry of Defence during her stint with the Defence Science and Technology Agency. Chuu Yi received her bachelor’s degree in Applied Science (Computer Engineering) from Nanyang Technological University with first class honours. She has also completed an Executive MBA programme with Singapore Management University and the Lee Kuan Yew Senior Fellowship in Public Service Programme.
