Pre-conference Workshops @ 14:00

[W4] 5 Nov (PM) - Beyond the hype: generative AI for school leaders

AI has quickly become a buzzword. EdTech companies add “AI-augmented” to their marketing, LinkedIn Ads promise a new “ChatGPT Masterclass” every week, self-proclaimed AI consultants are trying to get their share of your PL budget.

Meanwhile, the digital divide grows wider. Some teachers enthusiastically embrace the potential of generative AI (GenAI), both for and with their students, and some bury their heads deeper in the sand.

School leaders have an emerging need to examine the broad systemic implications of this transformational technology, to nurture innovation whilst keeping their mission and values at the core of what they do.

How can school leaders sustainably embed a culture of innovation and human-centred technology into their existing frameworks? This hands-on, practical workshop will equip you to lead thoughtful and sustainable change in your organisation.

Participants will:

  • Learn how to bridge the digital divide in your organisation, empowering all your staff with the tools and confidence to thrive in an AI-augmented world
  • Use systems thinking protocols to investigate the breadth of impact that generative AI can have on your organisation and its people
  • Put the human student at the heart of your decision making, and give clear, actionable steps towards ethical, responsible GenAI for all
