Barry Datlof, Chief, Business Development and Commercialization, U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command

Mr. Datlof is the Chief, Business Development and Commercialization in the Office of Medical Technology Transfer at the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command. He has commercialized biomedical and IT technologies in the university, nonprofit, for-profit, and government sectors. He owns Pregmama, a female fertility company developing therapies for women over 35. He teaches biotech marketing at the Johns Hopkins graduate program in biotechnology and at the NIH FAES graduate school. Currently he serves on the board of directors for BioMetrx, a cancer theranostics company, and AlphaGenics, a wellness genetics company. Mr. Datlof was COO of an immune tolerance company and VP Business Development of a pathogen diagnostics company. He also invented the first XML-based worldwide search engine for licensable technologies, BirchBob. He previously was Director of Patents and Licensing at the American Red Cross and founded the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's Office of Technology Transfer. His education includes a bachelors in biology from Swarthmore College and a masters in business administration from the University of Chicago. He presents on many patent and licensing topics, including technology transfer espionage, biotech branding, knowledge management solutions for startups and tech transfer offices, software commercialization, government trademark licensing, technology transfer ethics, and FDA Tropical Disease Vouchers
