Scott Deeter is CEO and Founder of InVitria, which manufactures animal-free recombinant human albumin, transferrin, growth factors and cytokines at its own cGMP facility. He has led the business since its founding. InVitria's Exbumin is the recombinant albumin excipient in Merck's ERVEBO®, the licensed rVSV-vectored Ebola vaccine, approved in that role by the FDA and EMA. Under his leadership, InVitria supports innovators across biopharmaceutical, vaccine, cell and gene therapy, and regenerative medicine markets with high-performance recombinant protein solutions designed to improve yield, product quality and supply-chain reliability. Current work at InVitria focuses on the final formulation and downstream stability of enveloped viral vectors, from sterile filtration and TFF through hold steps and freeze-thaw. In addition, recent successful collaobration with US Centers for Disease Control, and US National Institutes of Health under a SBIR grant led to the commercialization of OptiVERO, a defined and AOF media used to make viral vaccines targeting ebolavirus, dengue, yellow fever and influenza, among others.
Earlier in his career he started and led a joint venture between Cargill and F. Hoffmann-La Roche, and was a member of the Technology and Life Sciences Group at Salomon Brothers. He holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Kansas, an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
At World Vaccine Congress Europe 2026, he will contribute insights on the role of enabling technologies, strategic partnerships and next-generation manufacturing inputs in strengthening the global vaccine development ecosystem.
