Roland Zahn is currently Head of Nonclinical and Translational Immunology for Viral Vaccines at Janssen Vaccines and Prevention B.V.. In this role, he leads a team of researchers responsible for all aspects of nonclinical research on viral vaccines, for new vaccines entering the clinical pipeline, and for supporting clinical development including licensure. His work in the past years focused on RSV, Ebola, HIV and SARS-CoV-2 vaccine development using a variety of vaccine platforms and animal models. He is an immunologist with major research interest in the immunological response to viral infections and both preventive and therapeutic vaccines. During his doctoral and postdoctoral training, he concentrated on the innate and adaptive immunity to LCMV and SIV.
