Rituparna Das, M.D., Ph.D., is Senior Vice President and Therapeutic Area Head for Infectious Diseases, Rare Diseases and Therapeutics at Moderna, where she leads clinical development across a broad portfolio of mRNA medicines. A physician-scientist and global development leader, Dr. Das has led the development and regulatory approval of multiple vaccines, including Spikevax, mRESVIA, and most recently mFLUSIVIA, bringing a new influenza vaccine into Moderna’s respiratory portfolio. Prior to Moderna, she held leadership roles at Merck developing vaccines for Ebola, CMV, HPV, and rotavirus. She is board-certified in internal medicine, infectious diseases, and pediatrics and holds an M.D. from Jefferson Medical College and a Ph.D. in Immunology from Yale University.
