Dr. Caldwell is the Associate Vice President, Vaccine Research & Education at Meharry Medical College in Nashville TN. He leads the emerging partnership between Meharry and Clinical Research Associates of Nashville and is a devoted clinician and teacher. Dr. Caldwell serves as an investigator for many clinical research studies. He has more than 25 years experience in public health, health administration, biopharma and vaccine research. He previously served as Director of Scientific Affairs & Public Health, Vaccines for GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) focusing on adult immunization and helping to launch the new shingles vaccine, Shingrix. He was Director & Chief Medical Officer for the Nashville Public Health Department during the first year of the pandemic and is a Past President of the National Association of County & City Health Officials.
