Maja Leskovec holds a degree in Ecology from the University of Nova Gorica. Transitioning from her academic background, she started a career in the gene therapy sector, where she has made contributions to downstream processing of viral vectors and vaccines. Maja has held roles including Associate Scientist and Project Manager at BIA Separations, where she successfully managed process development activities for the AAV gene therapy, aimed at treating spinal muscular atrophy, among other projects. Currently, she leads the viruses process development team at Sartorius BIA Separations, focusing on a diverse range of vectors, such as AAV, Adeno, Lenti, LNPs, EVs, and phages. Her work emphasizes the implementation of novel techniques and in-process controls to enhance process yields.
