Kazumi Noguchi, Assistant Manager, The Research Foundation for Microbial Diseases of Osaka University

Kazumi Noguchi is an Assistant Manager in the Clinical Development Section at The Research Foundation for Microbial Diseases of Osaka University (BIKEN). BIKEN is a leading Japanese vaccine manufacturer and research organization dedicated to the development, production, and supply of vaccines and other biological products. Founded in 1934 in collaboration with The University of Osaka, BIKEN has contributed to public health through innovative vaccine research and high-quality manufacturing. With strong expertise in infectious diseases and biotechnology, BIKEN continues to support global health through the advancement of preventive vaccines. Kazumi Noguchi began her career in the R&D division, where she conducted research on varicella vaccine efficacy and developed a novel method for evaluating cellular immunity (Kazumi et al., J Immunol Methods. 2015;426:50–55). She later transitioned to the clinical development field and has since focused on intranasal influenza vaccines. Her experience includes the planning and execution of clinical trials involving pediatric and adult populations, as well as communication with Japanese healthcare regulatory authorities. Through her work, she contributes to the advancement of safe and effective vaccines aimed at improving public health. In her presentation, she will provide an overview of the Phase 3 clinical trial result in adults for a novel intranasal whole-virion inactivated influenza vaccine, which is currently under development in Japan for both adult and pediatric populations. BIKEN is very open to joint research and licensing opportunities, and we would be delighted to find a partner related to this vaccine.
