Francisco Mazzei | Project Oversight Director, Vaccines

Mr. Mazzei has over 25 years of experience in clinical research within the pharmaceutical life sciences industry. He joined PPD in February 2005 and currently serves as project oversight director for vaccines, managing a portfolio of Phase I-III studies to ensure delivery, compliance, and efficiency in close partnership with sponsors. Previously, Mr. Mazzei led clinical supply chain operations as an oversight director in numerous clinical development programs across several therapeutic indications and regions. He has also served as a subject matter expert in good clinical logistics practices, cold chain management, labeling, trade compliance and other business optimization processes, including the use of tracking technologies for various applications within and outside clinical supply cycle.

Prior to joining PPD, Mr. Mazzei worked for eight years in different roles within the BioPharma industry and consultancy, and previously as a pharmacist in the retail industry and academia. He earned his professional degree in pharmacy & chemistry at the University of Concepcion, Chile, and an MBA in international business at Gabriela Mistral University, Chile.
